Areas of specialization include: Digital Printing (both variable and static), Multi-Channel Communications Strategies and Technologies, personalized url’s, variable videos, and social media marketing strategies.
I have also worked for PGI, Agfa Corporation (initially Compugraphic), Magna Graphic, Scitex Development Corporation, Scitex American Corporation, General Motors Photographic, Information International, and the United States Air Force.
I am an enthusiastic student of marketing communications trends and technologies. There is so much to learn and it is always changing. The shift that is going on right now in the communications and marketing world is significant. Watching and studying this fast moving environment is fascinating. Working on how I can use this knowledge in helping my clients exceed their goals is truly a joy.
Accomplishments include:
- Successfully completing my tour duty for the United States Air Force. Was encouraged to join after getting a draft number of “1″ in 1971.
- Graduated with “High Honors” from Eastern Kentucky University. Continued my education at Arizona State University while working on my Master of Science in Graphic Communications Technology.
- First “real” job was for Information International (first company to image text, linework, and halftone images electronically) as an Applications Engineer. They had a division (5 guys…maybe I should call it a “group”?) who were working on the computer graphics for initial “Stars Wars” movie when I started.
- Employee #40 of Scitex American Corporation and was Demonstration Center Manager during the initial high growth years.
- Provided technical support for initial evaluation of both the Iris inkjet system and the Context packaging design system during my tenure as Project Manager for Scitex Development Corporation. Our job was to look for technologies to introduce to the market 3 to 5 years out.
- Started a Scitex electronic pre-press department in the 9th largest color trade shop in the US in 1985. Provided management for color scanning, dot etching, proofing, camera, and Scitex departments after being there two years.
- Started a service bureau in 1988 that leveraged desktop publishing and postscript. I saw the handwriting on the wall.
- First marketing job was a worldwide position for Agfa Compugraphic working on introducing a mid-range color workstation to the graphics market. Photoshop and the Mac Quadra showed up at about the same time…You know the outcome of that story.
- Developed plans and specifications for Agfa Corporations initial computer-to-plate (CTP) systems. After initial worldwide product launch, achieved #2 in market share after the first year of delivery of first product, Galileo.
